New to your residence and wondering what to expect? Keep reading.

Firstly, welcome to Downing Students. If this is your first year living with Downing Students’ we can’t wait for you to explore your residence. And if you are returning, let the good times continue!

CITY CENTRE VIBES

The best thing about each Downing Students’ residence is that you are perfectly located within the heart of the city. Explore your new city and immerse yourself in the nearby culture. Everything you need is never more than 30 minutes away. Close to campus, easily located transport links and plenty of nearby shops and attractions.

WHAT TYPE OF EVENTS DO WE HOST?

Whatever your interests, there is an event for everyone at Downing Students. Our residence teams plan free monthly events to ensure you have the best experiences with us. Welcome Parties are by far our favourite, with celebrations planned at each Downing Students’ residence. You can see your next resident within by checking your welcome emails and on our event highlight. You can also head to our tiktok account to see our event highlights so far.

DO I NEED TO BOOK A STUDY ROOM?

Study rooms at each building are available to all residents. Check at reception for how to secure a session for you and your study friends whenever you need to.

WHERE DO I COLLECT PARCELS THAT HAVE BEEN DELIVERED?

The great thing about living in PBSA is that you will never miss a delivery. When parcels arrive, your resident team will store them safely in our parcel areas at reception. you will receive an email notification from ‘no-reply@getparceltracker.com’ anytime you have a parcel to collect. A good idea is to set your spam filter settings to allow emails from the above email address. Parcels can only be collected at reception once you have received this email.  Check your reception opening hours ahead of collection.

HOW DOES LAUNDRY WORK?

Depending on which Downing Students’ building you live in, you building has a Circuit washing system. Check your arrival guide on which Circuit system is available to you. Each residence is slightly different to operate.

Typically, download the Circuit app on your phone and top up your account using your debit/credit card or Apple/Google Pay.Then take your clothes down to the laundry area and follow the step-by-step instructions on the machines.
