  1. Make a booking with Downing Students

    To be a referrer, you need to be a current Downing Students resident or have a confirmed booking for the next academic year, usually for a minimum 39‑week tenancy.Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll be given a resident student ID.

  2. Share your resident ID with your friends

    Give your unique resident ID to friends who are looking for student accommodation in one of our UK locations.You can share it in person, over messaging apps or by adding it to any referral form we provide.

  3. Your friends book their room

    Your friends must book an eligible room directly with Downing Students for the next academic year and enter your resident ID when they complete their booking.They’ll need to meet the same minimum tenancy length and other offer conditions.

  4. You both receive up to £150cashback

    When your referred friend has moved in, paid their first rent instalment and met the offer terms, up to £150 cashback will be applied to both of you, normally as a credit to your rent account within a set timeframe.
