Here at Downing Students, we love creating memories that will last a life time for our residents and our Glasgow team are amazing at doing this! The team makes the most of our unbelievable facilities to host great events for its residents.
West Village & West View hosted events like Burns night celebrations with a bag piper, Squid Game themed Halloween party, Santa visits, gaming tournaments, pub quizzes, walking city tours, cooking competitions and much more.
Not only is Glasgow great for our in-house events but it has incredible places to go! Glasgow team member Francesca, has picked out the must-visit places for you to go to.
Hillhead book club
A great student pub with events on all year-round such as ping pong tournaments, Drag Queen shows, Halloween festivals and Abba tribute nights. What else do you need?
Inn Deep – Student bar
Dog and pint lover? Well then Inn Deep is the perfect pub for you. With craft ale wooden ceilings, a terrace, quirky murals and an American-style menu – not to mention its dog friendly! it is the perfect place to go with your friends for a post lecture pint!
Moskitos – Student bar
Moskitos is a trendy, vibrant bar with an elevated global fare and imaginative cocktails, plus live music and DJs. It is one of the only bar-restaurants in Glasgow that is open until 3am and has recently reopened with a makeover, making it the perfect backdrop for Instagram.

Pollok Country Park – Sightseeing (FREE)
As Spring approaches, Pollok Country Park is the perfect place for a lovely day out. If you’re lucky you might even see a Highland cow (coo) or two.

The Rage Room – Activity
Fancy Trashing a Room? Then here’s your chance! The Rage Room is the perfect place to de-stress after university. Split the fee between you and your friends to make it a cheap activity. You’re only allowed up to 6 people per session so choose your team wisely.
Golf Fang
This isn’t your average crazy golf course. With 18 holes of pure entertainment, great cocktails and music, , you’d struggle to find a better way to spend £12 (which includes a free drink)!
Dumpling monkey – Restaurant
Feeling hungry but you’re on a student budget? Dumpling Monkey is the best place to go that’s cheap and cheerful. Available to dine in or get delivered, meaning you don’t have to move a muscle!
