South London is a haven for shoppers, with lots of options in everything from high street favourites to small boutiques. If you’re wanting to find the best student discount deals, head to Southside Wandsworth, a large shopping centre packed full of fashion and lifestyle household names.

If you’re most interested in shopping small and locally, check out Max and Melia in Oval, an indie gift shop with a great aesthetic, or Jo’s House for the best in natural beauty products, minimalist art and more.

Within easy reach of the city centre, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to nights out in London. Wicked Student Nights is a 30 minute tube ride and are one of the best and cheapest student nights, with low-cost entry and regular drinks offers, you’ll be able to enjoy the energetic atmosphere without breaking the bank.

You should also check out Shoreditch, which features some great student-friendly bars including Ballie Ballerson, the famous ball pit cocktail bar serving up amazing cocktails, delicious pizza and great tunes until the early hours.

Culture

South London is home to some of the capital’s most-loved cultural gems. From the Tate Modern to Shakespeare’s Globe, you won’t run out of things to do to enrich the soul around these parts.

We highly recommend checking out the 21 acre Southbank Centre if you get the chance. Comprising of three performing arts venues, a library and the Hayward Art Gallery, there is always something happening in this hub of creativity. There is also the Design Museum in Kensington, a bit further afield but worth a look if you’re interested in product, industry, graphic, fashion and architectural design.
